The new PiKo-1 PFM has been designed to replace mechanical peak flow meters. In addition to measuring the conventional PEF with increased accuracy, test quality alerts, and storage of tests. Unlike traditional mechanical meters, which only measure peak flow, the electronic PiKo-1 also measures FEV1 (forced expiratory volume), considered by many asthma specialists to be a more reliable indicator of an impending asthma attack.
