Q. "I am a community responder and need to buy various items for my kit myself due to budget restraints by the government, i treat all ages is there 1 machine that would do all or would i need to buy more than one ??"
A. Hello and thank you for your interest in Clinical Guard.
Our fingertip units are designed for adult use, however we do carry two specific fingertips units which are suitable for pediatric use (children between ages of 2-13 years old). It is not recommended to use an adult unit on pediatrics as the readings can be inconsistent due to the sensor calibration and the size of the fingertip area. Pediatric units are also a little more resilient to motion interference.
Our two pediatric fingertip units are as follows: OctiveTech 300PN and CMS 50QA. Detailed information on both these units can be found within the product listings.
Please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team should you have any additional questions.

Q. "What age range does this monitor work on?"
A. Octive Tech 300C pulse oximeter is a general purpose blood saturation levels spot-check device for adults. We also have pediatric oximeter Octive Tech 300PN especially designed for children from 2 to 13 years old. If you could tell us what age you would like to buy it for, we would recommend the exact model to meet your need. Thank you for your inquiry.

Q. "You can put the pulse oximeter on your ear lobe and get a better reading than in your extremities."
A. It is a very interesting observation. Unfortunately, typical SpO2 curves are clinically based on readings on fingers. Please consult with your medical care provider for professional suggestions.

Q. "I have the octive tech 300 pulse oximeter. My doctor wants me to use it when I get short of breath especially when exercising. The problem is that it takes 3 to 5 minutes for a reading. By that time my pulse has slowed and my oxygen level has increased. Is this a normal function or is there something wrong with mine.I hold the start button for at least a minute before I try to get a reading , but it still is slow and continous"
A. Hello,
One of the issues you're finding, which is an issue with all oximeters, is they will run very slowly with cold hands or in a cold environment. Comparatively a Nonin Onyx 9500 which is a very good, noteworthy model may be less effected. However, even in the instruction manual of the Nonin 9500 mentions warming up your hands if blood circulation is reduced.
Usually if your fingertips are cold when trying to get a reading, it will not be able to register a a good pulse signal/reading very well due to the reduced circulation or blood flow. See if warming up your hands will help resolve this issue. If you find that you're still having trouble, please call our support hot line and we can certainly run some tests on the unit. We do our best to make certain your experience with our products and service is a positive one.

Was very surprised that batteries were not included with this device and that no warning was given up front. The unit works just fine and I did happen to have two AAA's on hand but they are not a common size.

I work in a pulmonary rehab center and have been longing for an economical and high quality oximeter for a while to use on our patients. We know that the normal price of this small medical device ranges US$200-400. Then I searched on the Internet and accidently saw the details of the Octive Tech 300C product. I can hardly believe my eyes when I checked the price of this unit! I decided to purchase one and tested on our patients of our nursing center. One-button operation using 2AAA Alkaline batteries make the operation so easy for both paramedics and patients. The unit gives accurate and reliable readings whether in light or dark room conditions. We are all satisfied with the fantastic workmanship of this small unit. And best of all, its value-for-money price and great quality make it an obvious pick. In a word, a wise and great-valued choice for you and me.

My grandmother has serious respiratory problems. She is a patient with COPD and suffers from this condition. She needs to be placed on oxygen from time to time and sometimes even needs to be sent to a rehabilitation unit. We are all very concerned about her health condition. Our local doctors strongly recommend us to purchase an accurate oximeter to measure her blood saturation for home monitoring. I shopped online to look for a suitable model for her and found this 300C by OctiveTech. I purchased it immediately and the unit arrived on time. It is really a light-weight and easy-to-operate device, just put the finger between the clasps and several seconds later it provides us the blood saturation and pulse rate together with a bargraph showing the intensity of pulse strength on the display screen simultaneously. The unit got fast and accurate readings of SpO2 when we compared our item with the one provided by professional institutions. Thus we can keep track of her blood saturation at anytime at home and determine her state of health on our part. It is now an indispensable piece of equipment for my grandmother in our family. We all love it and greatly appreciate the wonderful performance of this little device!

I am a Specialty Care Emergency Medical Technician and I use the 300c all the time it is has been a great tool for my practice. This Pulse Oximeter 300c is inexpensive and pretty sturdy. I have dropped the Pulse Oximeter 300c a few times and still works, and not on purpose! I have noted though from the extreme use the spring has been getting worn but has not hindered the Pulse Oximeters accuracy. I have noted with individuals with a poor peripheral circulation such as people with renal problems and are on dialysis the oximeter takes a long time to read.
I give this product a 4 out of 5 because it sometimes takes a long time to read with some individual medical history that effects peripheral circulation. And also the spring has gotten a little worn even though it has not hindered the performance for an extra 15 cents for a better spring could not hurt; note that I use this product a lot more than the average person would.

After doing a web search, I purchased this oximeter from ClinicalGuard. It was the best price I found on the web. I have used a variety of oximeters in the past, mostly associated with clinics. Those were VERY expensive if bought through standard health care outlets. This oximeter definitely seems to work very well, quite sensitive and responsive. It also gives me a very good indication of oxygen saturation versus the physical sensations so that I can correlate performance with a "number." The device itself is well-constructed and seems to be quite sturdy. And finally, it was trivial to set up - put in 2 AAA batteries [not included], and push the button and it works.
More than a good product at a good price, I have to truly compliment ClinicalGuard for their Customer Service. They have an online live "chat" facility that is very responsive and knowledgeable. I had some questions, most of which I probably could have found on the site if I had been more patient. But Mac [the person who helped me] was patient and very helpful. This kind of responsiveness and customer service is RARE!! You can usually find "cheap" on the web - but it is a lot harder to find a company that you come away feeling like you found the right place.

I am an amateur pilot with an interest in collecting antique planes. My most recent purchase was a Douglas C47 Military Transport. When piloting any plane with an non pressurized cabin, knowing and identifying the symptoms of high altitude hypoxia is a life or death matter. Ordered the Octivetech 300C at the beginning of the year. I missed the delivery guy three times and they sent the item back! I sent an email to the customer service at the website and got a call back within an hour. They sent out another unit to a post office box the next day. The lead customer support guy even gave me his cell phone in case I had any more shipping problems. Thank you, clinicalguard.com.
PS. If they charged the actual overnight shipping for $17 instead of $18.50. I will give 5 out of 5.
