The 50E features next generation design with powerful technology to measure oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate through your finger. With a built in alarm, you never need to worry about your oxygen falling without realizing it. The 50E will alarm (auditory and visual) if the oximeter is not correctly in place on the finger, if the voltage is low, and, most importantly, if it measures a reading beyond set limits.

The CMS 50E has the ability to store 24 hours worth of data! Readings can be uploaded to your computer easily using the free software that is included with the device. Measurements can then be analyzed with the help of a medical professional or physician.

The bright, multicolor display makes reading your SpO2 an easy, fun experience. The oximeter’s next generation display allows you to see your readings in 4 different directions. The device charges when connected to the computer or connected to the power supply via power adaptor.

With the same size as a regular finger pulse oximeter, CMS 50E provides many features that are only available for expensive hand held unit. It is perfect for COPD sleep study, home healthcare spot-checking, aviation (fight against Hypoxia) monitoring, and medical professional daily practice.

Q. "Can one wireless transmission be sent and be displayed onto two separate computers?"
A. Yes, because the wireless transmitters provide only one frequency, multiple transmitters can be used on different computers. The one adapter piece must be attached to the oximeter and then 2+ x USB receivers must be plugged into the computers. The only circumstance is that the software is downloaded onto the multiple computers and the wireless transmitter is within 50 feet of all computers.

Q. "Can the CMS-50E transmit more than one oximeter signal wirelessly?"
A. No it cannot. Only one wireless transmitter can be used because all the wireless transmitters send the same frequency. However, a customer can use several oximeters that can plug directly to the computer with USB cable and one wireless transmitter.

Q. "Is the software disc compatible with Apple Mac OSX 10.5.8."
A. Unfortunately the software for the CMS-50E is not compatible with Mac operating systems.

Q. "Can you use this to monitor your o2 levels while you sleep and upload the data to computer ?"
A. Yes, this device is excellent and can monitor your SPO2 level as well as your pulse rate during your sleep. It can store readings up to 24 hours and upload the readings to your computer easily using the free software that is included with the device. Thank you for your inquiry.

Q. "How long does it take to get a stable reading on this product? Can it be used for occasional spot readings, or does it need to be used for a longer period for continuous monitoring? Additionally, could you define optimal (or minimum/maximum) finger sizes for each type of fingertip oximeter? I'm hoping to find a single version that would accomodate both an adult and an 8 year old. Thanks!"
A. Modern oximeters calculate accurate reading based on a series of sampling over several seconds. We recommend to wait for 5-10 seconds to get more accurate readings. There is one unit that is advertised to work for both adults and older children. Please keep in mind, it will vary from child to child depending on their weight and finger size. However, at the age of around 8, there is a unit that should be adequate. That unit is the BCI Digit Pulse Oximeter. It works well for children as well as adults because it has a different structure than most portable finger pulse oximeters. Its shaped like a small box with an adjustable finger tunnel. Due to the adjustable height, it allows different finger sizes to fit accordingly. Whereas most pulse oximeters are spring loaded clip-on units that already have a cutout for adult fingers. A. It is too big to fit a 5 year old child. We have one model named Pediatric Pulse Oximeter OctiveTech 300PN, which is especially designed for children between 2 to 13 years old. Thank you for your inquiry.

This is a beautiful instrument at a great price! The hardware is well designed, and the software is very good. I highly recommend it. The only down side i see, is the manual is not well written, so it took a bit of experimentation to lean how to use it. Over all, i'm very impressed!!
