Description

The SonoTrax Fetal Doppler provides a simple, easy to use Ultrasonic Doppler that allows mothers and health care professionals to retrieve a fetal heart rate (FHR) and listen to the sound of the heart beat. This Fetal Doppler provides different easy-to-use modes that provide Real-time FHR display, Averaged FHR, or a manual mode that allows the user to view a fetal heart rate for 10 heart beat period or for 5 heart beat, giving you a calculated measurement with a press of a button.

This Fetal Doppler provides basic features with an LCD screen displaying the FHR, battery indicator, probe type, and different display modes. This Water Resistant 3 MHz Probe provides better ultrasounds of fetal heart beat and allows use in water up to 3 feet for up to 5 hours. Doppler unit, however, cannot be emerged in water. The 3MHz Probe is recommended for all fetal dopplers due to stronger frequency allowing users to easily find a fetal heart beat. Instead of searching for minutes or hours having little to no success of finding the fetal heart beat.

The Low Battery indicator provides a full battery icon that indicates full battery levels and decreases slowly after so many uses. A visual and auditory warning will alarm when the battery needs to be changed and then proceeds to automatic shut off.

Why do we recommend 3 MHz probes for fetal heart detection?

Over 90% of OBs, hospitals, and midwives choose 3 MHz probe because they know from the results of millions of exams that 3 MHz works better. It works better because the fetus is so small early in gestation that 3 MHz reflects the ultrasound back to the sensor better than the lower frequency 2 MHz. A 3 MHz has also been proven to work well throughout the pregnancy.

Only in a few special cases does a 2 MHz work better such as on very overweight mothers when the fetus lies very deep. We provide 2 MHz probes as well so if you are unsure about which on to use, consult with one of our customer care specialists and they will help you determine the right one for you. Q. "From what week can you start to use this model?"
A. This Baby Doppler provides a clearer amplification of the fetal heart beat than most stethoscopes and can detect and pick up the fetal heart beat as early as 8 weeks gestation (with 3MHz probes). However, it is generally recommended and easier to pick up the fetal heart beat starting from 10 weeks. Thank you for your inquiry.

A. Yes, if you would like you can request that instead of the 3MHz probe when you purchase the unit. If you mention it in the order comments during checkout or give us a call at 888-769-4827, we can switch out the probes for you in the order. If you want to purchase it along with the 3MHz probe, please call us and we can add it to your order for an additional cost.

I have a history of miscarriage. With my current pregnancy my husband and I decided to purchase this Doppler so that we could hear the heartbeat whenever we want. I learned that it works significantly better with a full bladder. I was able to hear my baby's heartbeat at 10 weeks and it is so very reassuring to be able to know on a daily basis that everything is OK rather than having to wait for weeks at a time for my next doctor appointment. I asked my doctor how safe it is and she told me that I can use it for a few minutes everyday. The Doppler has significantly changed my experience with pregnancy. I am not as stressed and my doctor appointments are not as stressful because I have had success with finding the heart within a minute every single time I have attempted to find it (since I have been doing it with a full bladder). I highly recommend this Doppler, my doctor said that it must be a good brand to be able to pick up the heartbeat already with how my uterus is tilted. It was totally worth the $$.

My wife and I are expecting parents. We purchased this ultrasound fetal doppler to check our baby's heart beat regularly at home. The delivery and telephone assistance is very nice. The screen displaying the data is quite clear. Simple operation and handheld design make the readings easy to get. Obviously, this small device did not dissapoint my wife and I. We love it and are grateful to have it.
