Doppler Effect

Doppler effect is the basic principle which is employed to detect the speed of blood flow by means of ultrasound. In such a way, fetal heart beat can be heard and examined for defects, if there is any.

Fetal distress

Fetal Heartbeat Sounds

Sounds of the fetal heartbeat which like galloping horse, the beat rate is about twice as fast as the mother's heart rate. The frequency of sounds are between 120-180 BPM.
